Dr. Fanchen Meng

Head of Strategy Great China

Prior to joining Kaiserwetter GmbH, Dr. Fanchen Meng was a partner in Heidrick & Struggle’s Paris office, and a member of the firm’s Industrial and Supply Chain practices. He served as group VP and head of strategy for Asia (with operations in 10 countries, including North and South Korea) at Lafarge in Paris, France. Before that, he held several roles with Siemens China Ltd including SVP and GM of Eastern Region (the biggest overseas’ operation of Siemens worldwide, including 50 companies & 30000 employees), SVP and GM of Shanghai, and VP as well as President of Siemens One. He began his business career with A.T. Kearney in Germany, and became a global VP/partner of the A.T. Kearney Inc. to manage the Shanghai branch in China and the operation practice in North Asia.
Dr. Fanchen Meng is currently a professor at Tongji-University and previously worked as assistant to professor at Ruhr-University, Lehrstuhl für VWL. He has published several books including, “From a student to a global manager,” 2013, Tongji Press (Chinese language), “Chinese companies: What now?,” 2010, Mechanical Press (Chinese language) and “Alternative Rationierungskonstellationen,” 1991, VVF (German language).
Fanchen received a BA in civil engineering from Tongji-University Shanghai, China, and a Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. (master) and PhD from Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany.
